Dru Stephenson
A native of Vidor, he lived in Vidor for 73 years before moving to Jasper 12 years ago. Dru was a Vidor City Council Member, Vidor City Mayor, and a member of the Vidor School Board. He was a 50+ year member of the Vidor Masonic Lodge #1286. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 27, 2010 under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home.
Dru was preceded in death by his first wife Dot Stephenson. He is survived by his wife Sue Phelps Stephenson of Jasper, daughters Linda Jones and husband Dewey of Vidor, and Cynda Larson of Basalt, CO., adopted sons: Charles Young and Roy Young and his wife Barbara all of Beaumont, step-sons Jim Phelps of Livingston, Larry Phelps of Durango, CO., and Lloyd Phelps of Austin, step-daughters Sandy Martin of Houston, and Bonnie Farr of Buna, sisters Joyce Chesser and Jeanell Peveto both of Vidor, nineteen grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
